Eyelid Surgery
(Blepharoplasty)
The eyes are one of the first areas to show signs of aging — and sometimes, those changes can make us look tired, sad, or older than we feel. Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) offers a subtle yet powerful way to restore a more open, refreshed, and rested appearance that reflects the essence of who you truly are.
I’m Dr. Leela, and I view blepharoplasty as one of the most delicate and rewarding ways to rejuvenate the face. By smoothing the natural contours around the eyes with precision and care, I can restore brightness and vitality without altering your unique expression. My focus is always on subtle refinement — helping you look more rested, rejuvenated, and completely yourself.

Who Is a Candidate for Eyelid Surgery?
You may be a good candidate for eyelid surgery if you:
- Have drooping or hooded upper eyelids that affect your appearance or vision
- Notice puffiness, bags, or hollowing beneath the eyes
- Feel that your eyes look tired or aged, even when you’re well-rested
- Are in good health and have realistic expectations
Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, depending on your needs. During your consultation, I’ll assess your anatomy and goals to recommend the best approach for restoring a brighter, more youthful eye area.
Benefits of Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery can create a more rested, open, and youthful appearance by addressing the delicate contours around the eyes. Benefits include:
- Lifting drooping upper eyelids for a brighter, more alert expression
- Addressing skin laxity and lines that contribute to a tired or aged look
- Reducing puffiness or bags beneath the eyes
- Improving symmetry and overall facial balance
- Enhancing the appearance of the eyes without changing their natural shape
Even subtle changes to the eyelids can have a powerful impact — both in how others see you and how you see yourself. During your consultation, I’ll design a personalized plan to refresh your eyes with precision and grace.
About the Procedure
Eyelid surgery is a highly delicate procedure that removes and repositions excess skin and fat from the eyelid area while preserving the natural contour of the eyes. Surgical options include upper blepharoplasty (performed on the upper eyelids) and lower blepharoplasty (performed on the lower eyelids).
- Upper Blepharoplasty: Addresses droopy upper eyelids, which may create a tired, sad appearance and may interfere with vision and sightlines. The procedure begins with a fine incision placed in the natural crease of the upper eyelid. Through this incision, I remove excess skin and remove or reposition fat to create a more open, lifted look.
- Lower Blepharoplasty: Addresses hollows, puffiness, or under-eye bags. Incisions are made either just below the lash line or inside the lower eyelid. Through this incision, I remove or reposition fat and tighten the skin to smooth and rejuvenate the under-eye area.
Upper and lower blepharoplasty can be performed alone, together, or with additional procedures as part of a more comprehensive facial rejuvenation plan.
Recovery and Healing
While recovering after blepharoplasty, patients can expect some mild swelling, tightness, and bruising, which usually peaks within the first 2 to 3 days and then improves steadily. Cold compresses and elevating the head can help reduce swelling and discomfort. Most patients feel comfortable returning to work and light activities within 7 to 10 days, and makeup and contact lenses can usually be resumed after 10 to 14 days (depending on healing). The final results from eyelid surgery become more visible as swelling subsides over the course of several weeks to a few months.
I’ll monitor your recovery closely and provide personalized guidance every step of the way to ensure a smooth healing process and beautiful results.
