Lower Body Lift Surgery

Redefine your body shape. Reclaim your comfort.

Over time — especially after significant weight loss — your body may change in ways that feel out of step with how hard you’ve worked or how strong you feel inside. Loose skin and poorly defined contours can leave you feeling disconnected from your body. A lower body lift is a powerful way to reshape your midsection, hips, outer thighs, and buttocks all at once — helping your reflection feel more like you again.

I’m Dr. Leela, and I see lower body lift surgery as a powerful way to restore both form and function. With careful planning and precise technique, we can restore balance, comfort, and confidence from every angle. I’ll work closely with you to design a surgical plan that reflects your goals, supports your lifestyle, and honors the effort it took to get here.

Who Is a Candidate for a Lower Body Lift?

You may be a good candidate for a lower body lift if you:

  • Have significant loose skin around the abdomen, hips, thighs, or buttocks
  • Experience skin irritation, chafing, or hygiene challenges due to excess skin
  • Have difficulty finding clothing that fits properly around your midsection or lower body
  • Are maintaining a stable body weight after significant weight loss
  • Are in good health and have realistic expectations

Lower body lift surgery is especially effective for patients who have experienced major weight changes. During your consultation, I’ll evaluate your anatomy and discuss your goals to determine whether a lower body lift is the most effective way to achieve the results you want.

Benefits of Lower Body Lift Surgery

This transformative procedure offers both aesthetic and functional improvements, including:

  • Removing loose, sagging skin from the lower torso and thighs
  • Lifting and reshaping the buttocks and outer thighs
  • Improving skin tone and contour in the mid and lower body
  • Enhancing comfort during movement and physical activity
  • Helping clothing fit better around your midsection and lower half
  • Reducing irritation and chafing from excess, sagging skin

After a lower body lift, you’ll enjoy a smoother, firmer, and more contoured lower body. Your new figure will reflect the effort you’ve put into your health and well-being and will allow you to feel lighter, freer, and more confident in your body.

About the Procedure

Lower body lift surgery is a comprehensive body contouring procedure performed under general anesthesia. It typically takes several hours and may involve an overnight stay, depending on the extent of correction.

This procedure combines a tummy tuck with a circumferential lift to remove excess skin and tighten underlying tissue across the abdomen, waist, lower back, buttocks, and lateral thighs. Liposuction is often incorporated to further enhance definition.

Your surgical plan will be tailored to your anatomy, goals, and recovery needs to create results that feel balanced, natural, and uniquely your own.

Surgical Techniques

A lower body lift involves a circumferential horizontal incision placed low around the waistline and hip area. Through this incision:

  • The abdominal area is tightened and reshaped (similar to a tummy tuck)
  • The flanks, lower back, and buttocks are lifted for improved contour
  • Loose skin along the outer thighs and hips is removed
  • Liposuction may be performed to reduce fullness and enhance definition

Precise surgical techniques and the utmost care are used to minimize tension on the incision and support healing so that your results are consistent and your scars fade smoothly over time. Every contour of your body is considered to ensure your results are refined, seamless, and in harmony with your overall shape.

Recovery and Healing

Patients may stay overnight after surgery and return home the following day. You can expect to experience tightness, swelling, and bruising during the first 1 to 2 weeks. Postoperative pain is manageable with medication, and I’ll provide compression garments to support healing. Light walking is encouraged early on to support circulation, but you’ll need to avoid bending, lifting, or strenuous activity for at least 4 to 6 weeks. Many patients return to desk work or light daily activity within 2 to 3 weeks after a lower body lift.

Your results will continue to improve over 8 to 12 weeks as swelling subsides and the tissues settle. I’ll guide you every step of the way to ensure your recovery is smooth.
