Lip Lift

Graceful balance. Confident beauty.

Your lips frame every smile, every word, every expression. Over time, the upper lip can lengthen, losing some of its natural definition and affecting the proportions of the face. Whether due to age or natural anatomy, this change may disrupt balance and diminish the elegance of your features. A lip lift restores proportion by gently elevating the upper lip — creating a more youthful contour, a vibrant smile, and graceful harmony in the face.

I’m Dr. Leela, and I believe the lips should enhance your expression, not hold it back. My approach is focused on subtlety and refinement — elevating the upper lip in a way that feels balanced, feminine, and true to your natural beauty. Through either surgical lip lift or non-surgical enhancement with dermal fillers, I can help you achieve a soft, refined contour that feels authentically you. My goal is always to highlight your natural beauty while enhancing confidence in the way you look and feel.

Who Is a Candidate for a Lip Lift?

You may be a good candidate for a lip lift if you:

  • Notice age-related thinning, flattening, or elongating of the upper lip
  • Feel your upper lip looks long or flat in profile
  • Have a naturally thin or flat upper lip that feels unbalanced with the rest of your features
  • Want more definition in the cupid’s bow or vermilion border of your upper lip
  • Are in good health and have realistic expectations

During your consultation, I’ll examine your facial proportions and listen to your goals to recommend whether a surgical lip lift, dermal fillers, or combination approach will provide the most natural, pleasing result.

Benefits of a Lip Lift

A lip lift can create subtle but powerful enhancements, such as:

  • Shortening the distance between the nose and upper lip to improve overall facial balance
  • Restoring youthful lip definition and projection
  • Enhancing the cupid’s bow for a more feminine contour
  • Revealing more of the upper teeth when smiling
  • Offering long-lasting results that complement the entire face

For those who prefer a non-surgical option, dermal fillers can temporarily add volume, shape, and definition to the lips with little to no downtime. For patients seeking a more lasting change, a surgical lip lift restores proportion and elegance with results that harmonize beautifully with the entire face.

About the Procedure

A lip lift may involve surgery, fillers, or both. For a surgical lip lift, the most common technique involves removing a small strip of skin just beneath the base of the nose, gently elevating the upper lip and refining its shape. For a non-surgical lip lift, dermal fillers can be placed to gently plump the lips, define the cupid’s bow, or restore balance and definition without surgery. If desired, I may combine both with elegant precision to restore beauty and proportion in a subtle but transformative way.

Techniques

Each lift is personalized to your anatomy and goals. Common approaches include:

  • Surgical Lip Lift: A small strip of skin is removed through an incision beneath the nose, shortening and lifting the upper lip to improve its shape, definition, and proportion. This option is best suited for patients who want a more permanent solution.
  • Dermal Fillers: Injectable fillers can enhance lip volume, contour, and symmetry without downtime. This option is ideal for patients who want temporary refinement without undergoing surgery.
  • Combination Approach: Some patients benefit from both — a surgical lip lift to reshape proportion and fillers for added plumpness and contour.

Together, we’ll design a plan that fits your anatomy, your preferences, and your long-term vision for your lips.

Recovery and Healing

Recovery from lip lift surgery is typically well-tolerated. Most patients are able to return to light activities right away, although mild swelling and tightness are common in the first few days. Sutures are typically removed within a week, and most swelling resolves within 1 to 2 weeks.

For dermal fillers, the recovery is even simpler. You may experience mild swelling or bruising for a few days, but most patients resume normal activities immediately.

No matter which option you choose, I’ll provide clear aftercare instructions and check in with you regularly to ensure your results settle beautifully.
