Rhinoplasty

Subtle changes. Ultimate refinement.

The nose plays a major role in facial balance. When its appearance doesn’t align with how you see yourself, it can impact your confidence in subtle but meaningful ways. Rhinoplasty is a highly personalized procedure designed to enhance harmony, improve function, and bring your facial features into better proportion by providing subtle, yet meaningful changes to the shape of the nose.

I’m Dr. Leela, and I believe that rhinoplasty requires the utmost precision, care, and artistry. Whether your goal is subtle refinement, correction of a bump, improving nasal symmetry, or even addressing breathing issues, I’ll work closely with you to create results that feel natural, balanced, and completely you.

Who Is a Candidate for Rhinoplasty?

You may be a good candidate for rhinoplasty if you:

  • Are bothered by the shape, size, angle, or symmetry of your nose
  • Have a nasal hump, wide tip, or drooping nasal tip
  • Feel your nose is out of proportion with the rest of your features
  • Have difficulty breathing due to a deviated septum or nasal structure
  • Are in good overall health with realistic expectations

Rhinoplasty is about more than just facial aesthetics — it’s about feeling more comfortable in your appearance and, in some cases, improving how you breathe. During your consultation, I’ll take time to understand your goals, examine your facial anatomy, and design a treatment plan tailored specifically to you.

Benefits of Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty can bring balance to your facial features while also improving nasal function. Benefits can include:

  • Refining the shape, size, or projection of the nose for better facial harmony
  • Smoothing a nasal hump or improving tip definition
  • Enhancing symmetry and nasal profile from all angles
  • Correcting structural issues within the nose that impact breathing
  • Creating subtle, long-lasting changes that complement your natural features

Rhinoplasty is both an art and a science; it restores facial balance while preserving the unique character of your face. During your consultation, I’ll take time to understand what you envision, evaluate your anatomy, and create a surgical plan that blends precision, function, and artistry.

About the Procedure

Rhinoplasty is typically performed under general anesthesia and takes about 2 to 3 hours, depending on the complexity of the case. There are two primary surgical approaches:

  • Open Rhinoplasty: Involves a small incision across the base of the columella (the tissue between the nostrils). This approach allows for precise reshaping of the nasal structure and is often used for more complex or detailed work.
  • Closed Rhinoplasty: All incisions are made inside the nose. This approach avoids an external scar and is typically used for more minor adjustments.

During the surgery, I may remove or refine bone and cartilage, narrow the nostrils, and/or reshape the nasal tip. Every decision during rhinoplasty is made with careful attention to your anatomy, aesthetic goals, and nasal function.

In addition to cosmetic refinement, rhinoplasty can improve nasal airflow and relieve breathing difficulties. If you have a deviated septum, collapsed nasal valves, or other structural issues that affect your breathing, we can address these at the same time as any cosmetic changes — so you not only look better, but feel better, too.

Recovery and Healing

Recovery after rhinoplasty is a gradual process, but most patients find it to be very manageable. You’ll return home the same day with a small splint on your nose to protect its shape during healing. Swelling and bruising (especially around the eyes) are common and will usually peak in the first 2 to 3 days after surgery. You may also feel pressure and congestion, especially during the first few days. The splint is usually removed around 1 week post-op, and most patients feel comfortable returning to work or school within 7 to 10 days. Residual swelling continues to improve over several months, with final results visible around 6 to 12 months.

I’ll monitor your healing closely and support you through each stage of recovery — from your first post-op visit to your 12-month checkup — to ensure your recovery experience is smooth, supported, and aligned with your goals.
